Fr. Charles Fitzpatrick is the third of five children born to Bill and Eileen Fitzpatrick, both of whom have since gone to the Lord. He grew up and lived most all of his childhood and young adulthood on the Southwest Side of Chicago. There are three brother and one sister all but one still live in the old neighborhood. He went to Catholic grade School and High School. He graduated College from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul MN. He worked as a clerk in the U.S. Federal Bankruptcy court in Chicago for a couple years after college. After that he was a bartender for awhile. Thank on to a legal assistant with a stint in graduate school for exercise physiology. His main career was as an Adult Probation Officer for Cook County, IL . He did not hear the call of Priesthood until after retiring early from the Probations Department. Like most guys who are called, he fought it for several years. But the call kept getting stronger and more and more frequent. Finally, six years after his retirement he entered the St. Paul Seminary in 2010. He was ordained to the priesthood at our St. Peter's Cathedral on June 4, 2016.
