Mission Statement...We are a Catholic family,
living our awareness of Christ’s presence through worship, service, evangelization and community
for the benefit of all.
Mission:
The mission of St Thomas The Apostle Prayer Shawl Ministry is to provide hope, comfort and healing to those who receive our prayer shawls. It is a tangible reminder of God’s Love.
God’s Ever Present Love:
A prayer shawl is a blessed gift for any circumstance in one’s life journey – sorrowful or joyful. The power of the prayer shawl is gifted with prayers in every stitch knowing God is with us.
When To Wear A Prayer Shawl:
The prayer Shawl is worn when one is drawn to prayer, rest, reading and even work, drawing God close to their heart. The shawl can be draped over the shoulders or used as a blanket. It may even be passed on as a gift to someone else.
Labor Of Love In Prayer And Work:
St Thomas The Apostle Prayer Shawl Ministry is a faith filled sharing community growing toward holiness. We are consecrated to the Immaculate Heart Of Mary and Sacred Heart Of Jesus. The ministry begins with prayer through the Holy Spirit and continues in prayer throughout the creation of the prayer shawl. It takes approximately four skeins of yarn and approximately 20 hours to stitch to complete one prayer shawl. Each prayer shawl comes with a Catholic medal and a hand made prayer card. The ministry prays over the prayer shawls and the priest blesses them before they are gifted.
Giving A Prayer Shawl:
Do you know someone who needs a prayer shawl? Perhaps a family member or a friend.
A prayer shawl can be that special tangible gift as a reminder of God’s ever present Love.
