Mission Statement...We are a Catholic family,
living our awareness of Christ’s presence through worship, service, evangelization and community
for the benefit of all.
Founded in 1833, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a worldwide organization of lay Catholics, following Christ’s call to serve the poor, the suffering, and the deprived.
The founding activity, still practiced today, is the Home Visit. Through these visits, Vincentian members establish personal relationships with our neighbors in need, not only providing material assistance such as rent, utilities, food, or clothing, but also offering friendship, understanding, and prayer.
We have had St. Thomas Outreach doing similar work over the last several decades. It is now time to join over 5,000 St. Vincent de Paul Conferences and Councils across the country as the St. Thomas the Apostle SVdP Conference. You will hear more about us as we start up. We will need volunteers, financial resources and most of all your prayers. So we will keep you posted as we learn more about this important work of the Catholic Church.
For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.
Matthew 25:35,36
